BIBLE QUOTE FOR THE WEEK
At that point Peter got up the nerve to ask, “Master, how many times do I forgive a brother or sister who hurts me? Seven?
Jesus replied, “Seven! Hardly. Try seventy times seven.”
Happy new month, welcome to April!
Thank God for the success of the Guilt series in March, it was wonderful and refreshing and we all had one, two, many lessons to take home. This month of April, we will be discussing….*drumroll*….. Forgiveness!
I find this topic particularly exceptional for so many reasons: It is practical, it is doable, it isn’t far-fetched or vague to understand, it is very essential in our daily interaction with people. Outside love, it is one key factor that determines how far a relationship will go…It is a broad topic and yet narrow; in that whatever the offence may be, however you want to judge the matter, you arrive at the same conclusion: FORGIVE.
It is also important we understand that forgiveness is a very spiritual action. Meaning that in the Heavens (i.e God’s kingdom), forgiveness is a big deal. Look at it critically, our very own relationship with God is based on forgiveness – where God expresses His love for us by choosing to overlook our wrongs in order to redeem us. It’s a very big deal, forgiveness is a big deal to God and to us; since we are expected to be and act like Christ in everything. Which means, we are expected to forgive every single time we are offended.
That said, post on forgiveness will be published in the following format on:
Mondays – Quotes/ bible quotes/exhortation/inspirational words
Fridays – Fiction/poetry/Non-fiction etc
Saturdays – (special edition) Talk with Sosa and Desola on what is forgiveable and what isn’t in a relationship.
It promises to be a fun month. I am eagerly looking forward to all that God will have us learn on the topic forgiveness. Please and please, do not miss any posts on this series and as we learn, may God help us to practicalize the lessons learnt.
Looking forward to hearing and learning from you.
